Before making a small l shaped kitchen, make sure you avoid these seven mistakes:

1. Selecting the wrong sink or counter-top. Many people have the wrong idea about how they work in the kitchen. In fact, the three busiest areas of the kitchen are the stove, the sink, and the refrigerator. The wrong layout can cause tripping hazards. So, choose a countertop and cabinet layout that can accommodate multiple appliances, such as a double oven.

2. Not considering your cooking habits or needs. Every house is unique, so you should consider the routine of your kitchen before you begin designing your modular kitchen. Think about where you typically prepare meals, and where you want to place your appliances. For instance, where do you plan to keep your microwave and the freezer?

Where do you need to place the sink? If you're planning on changing your kitchen's layout frequently, make sure to plan for this in advance.

5. Not taking measurements and planning kitchen storage. When designing a modular kitchen, consider how you will use it. You should have a plan that integrates different work zones. You also need to plan where your sink and stove will be.

When choosing your cabinets, consider where they should be located. You want them to be easily accessible, but not too close to each other. Ideally, you should have enough space for everything.

6. Not considering proper ventilation. If you want your modular kitchen to be more functional, it must be well ventilated. This will prevent mildew and bacteria from growing in the cabinets. It will also improve the life of your appliances. This will help them last longer. When designing a modular kitchen, you should not focus only on aesthetics. You must consider all the important details that will make it a practical space for your family.

7. Selecting the wrong countertop. Your countertops should be heavy-duty and durable. Ideally, you should choose stone or granite as the countertop. A modular kitchen should be light-colored and feature good lighting. A kitchen with good lighting is more functional and easier to clean. If the countertop isn't properly lit, it will be easier to see other details of your modular kitchen. The lighting in your modular kitchen should also be excellent.

While choosing the right countertop for your modular kitchen, make sure it's durable. Your countertop should be made of stone or another durable material. A stone or black marble countertop will last for years, so choose one that is highly resistant to heat and pressure. Your countertops should be easily accessible. If they're not, you can choose one with a high-powered hood. You'll appreciate its durability and look.
